Introduction

Founded in April 2003, Limpopo Structures is dedicated to being the premier structural steel engineering contracting firm in Limpopo. Our vision is rooted in delivering superior quality and service, supported by a well-resourced team and advanced workshop facilities.

With a monthly production capacity of approximately 200 tons of steel, we have successfully executed projects not only in Limpopo but also in Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and the North West Province. Our state-of-the-art equipment includes hydraulic guillotines, bending brakes, CNC profile cutting, and more, enabling us to meet a wide range of structural steel manufacturing needs efficiently.

Our skilled management team, led by Gerard Mockford, Mark Mockford, and Graeme Mockford, ensures that every project is managed professionally from inception to handover. Our detail drawing office, equipped with certified technicians and the latest software tools, collaborates closely with consulting structural and civil engineers to deliver precise and accurate designs.

Workshop Equipment

At Limpopo Structures, our workshop is equipped with a wide range of advanced machinery and tools, enabling us to handle virtually any structural steel manufacturing project efficiently and accurately. Our state-of-the-art equipment includes:

  • Hydraulic Guillotine: Ensures precise cutting of steel plates to required dimensions.
  • Bending Brakes (45 – 200 ton capacity): Allows us to bend and shape steel to exact specifications.
  • Punches and Croppers (45 – 160 ton capacity): Facilitates the punching of holes and cropping of steel sections with precision.
  • CNC Profile Cutting: Utilizes plasma and gas to cut steel ranging from 1.2mm to 40mm thick.
  • Plate Rolling: Capable of rolling plates up to 3mm for various applications.
  • Notching Machinery: Provides precise notching capabilities for complex designs.
  • Welding Facilities: A comprehensive range of welding equipment enables us to perform various welding techniques to meet project requirements.

Our well-equipped workshop ensures that we can manufacture and erect structural steel components with high efficiency and quality, meeting the diverse needs of our clients.

Plant Infrastructure

Limpopo Structures is equipped with a robust plant infrastructure to support the efficient transport and handling of materials for our projects. Our infrastructure includes:

  • Transport Facilities: We have a fleet of trucks capable of transporting materials up to 22 meters, ensuring timely delivery to project sites.
  • Truck-Mounted Cranes: These cranes facilitate the easy loading and unloading of heavy materials, enhancing our operational efficiency.
  • Telescopic Handlers: Our telescopic handlers provide versatile handling solutions, allowing us to manage materials effectively on-site.

Our comprehensive plant infrastructure ensures that we can handle logistics seamlessly, enabling smooth execution of projects from start to finish.

Management Experience

Gerard Mockford

I am proud to be part of our family business, as one of Mark Mockford’s sons. I am the drawing office for Limpopo Structures, I completed my National diplomas: structural steel detailing ETQA 577 in June 2016. I am also privileged to be one of the directors for Limpopo Structures.

I am here to assist you at anytime with quotes, site meetings, drawings or technical advice on your projects. From formal quotations to final handover, it is my pleasure to assist all our clients with only the best service.

Mark Mockford

After matriculating at John Ross College in Richards Bay in 1985, he joined the Anglo American Learner Official program with Freegold. He graduated from Triangle Technicon with a N.H Dip Mech.Eng. In 1990 he completed his Government Certificated of Competency for Engineers (Mechanical) in 1994. Where after he worked as a project engineer for Anglo American at the Freegold Division. Two years later he resigned to run his own business.

Graeme Mockford

Graeme Mockford matriculated at Merensky High school. He then spent a year running private retail enterprises after which he went to Pretoria university where he graduated with a Bcom in business management. He went on to manage Mr Pieman for 5 years until he was made a director and financial administrator of Limpopo Structures.
